Our July 2018 100th WAPF Pasadena Chapter Potluck Meeting, Podcast and Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social was an amazing event for the history books. This was a true convergence of food and farming, as over 100 people from our local communitygathered for this amazing time to honor our incredible chapter milestone (100 straight meetings). We ate delicious organic nutrient dense foods, and enjoyed organic homemade raw milk ice cream with milk and cream donated by Organic Pastures and pastured eggs donated by Harvest Gathering Farm.
Our guests had the opportunity be part of a live audience to record a Wise Traditions Podcast episode hosted by Hilda Labrada Gore featuring raw milk champion and advocate Mark McAfee from Organic Pastures. Our friend Hilda traveled all the way from Washington D.C. and Mark traveled from Central California to be part of our celebration.
The evening was made perfect with the sweet sounds of local musician and recording artist Michelle Bloom as she played from her award nominated album Big Back Yard. Michelle is a true advocate for tradtional eating. Her song “Sunny Side Up” even includes bone broth, sauerkraut and cod liver oil in its lyrics.
As always this wonderful gathering was enjoyed at Nature Friends Lodge, a Swiss Chalet in the Sierra Madre Foothills
