March 2019 – Movie Night: Captain Fantastic

Captain Fantastic
The March potluck was a return to our movie night as we screened the film Captain Fantastic. Captain Fantastic tells the story of a father devoted to raising his six kids with a rigorous physical and intellectual education being forced to leave his paradise and enter the world, beginning a journey that challenges his idea of what it means to be a parent. The film raises many themes which Weston A. Price members can relate to, such as living off the grid in the wilderness, foraging, hunting, and growing your own food, and homeschooling while living in a world that is capitalistic and consumeristic.

Captain Fantastic is available to stream on Amazon Prime and can be rented on several streaming sites, such as iTunes, Google PlayPlaystation Store, and FandangoNOW. A trailer for the film can be viewed below.
